Assemblies often require the cooperation and coordination of many suppliers. For example, an assembly may require an extrusion, stampings, screw machine parts and finishing processes such as painting and anodizing. Third party factories may provide tooling and fixturing. In China, the assembly factory typically selects its own vendors for component and finishing. Offshore Solutions has found that subcontractors chosen by the assembly factory are often selected without due diligence and the quality of the resulting assembly suffers.

In China Offshore Solutions' Supplier Quality Engineers audit, qualify and monitor each supplier in the supply chain. An OSI approved assembly factory is selected and is required to use OSI approved suppliers. Special attention is paid to subcontracted tooling factories whose work has the most direct impact on project success.
